Yes. Marine Breeze units are based on “24v” or “48v” designs. You will need the convert to boost the voltage in cases where an appropriate battery bank voltage does not match. Our boosters are specifically designed for appropriate output. Message us for support when choosing the right converter for your application.
Marine Breeze DC units use variable compressors. It is normal for the unit to reduce compressor speed to increase efficiency as the Air Conditioner approaches your set temperature on the thermostat. If testing for max cooling, set your thermostat temp as low as it will go and allow 5-8 minutes for the compressor to step up to high stage output. ** NOTE: As temperature nears thermostat set point, Compressor is variable and will decrease output to improve system efficiency. Compressor will automatically increase the “work” stage as the ambient air temperature margin increases from the thermostat set point.
This is the controller for the pump. It provides safety programming and cycling which communicates with the main Air Conditioner unit. Do not remove this piece.
Refer to the product details outlining the proper freon and weight quantity for your unit. *Note, most Marine Breeze units come pre filled. Technicians state they typically fill to 36 or 37 PSI. Unit MUST BE vacuumed prior to freon fill. When filling with freon, the unit must be running and the compressor engaged. Make sure to allow your unit to run for roughly 10 min at MAX air with Temp set as low as it will go. Take your time when charging the unit introducing additional freon slowly in stages of 3 or 4 minutes between bursts to allow Frean to distribute through the unit. Freon amount may vary based on your environment conditions at time of fill.
Typically is caused by blocked raw water cooling flow. Remove blockage to increase water flow.
If you can hear the pump running but no water is cycling through the unit, check to ensure your through hull valves are open and there is no blockage. We recommend creating your own siphon on the hose to ensure water is passing through with minimal restriction. If the issue continues, ensure the raw water pump is mounted low, below sea level. If you are unable to mount the water pump below sea level, then you may need to use our self priming Heavy Duty Pump.
